They do this by gaining a deep understanding of the Cisco architectures and solutions and guiding partners through that learning process to help them leverage them to meet their customers’ needs.
Each week, the EDGE360 editors will highlight a Comstor team member behind the company’s business development and enablement programs. This week, we sat down with Shawn Motley, Comstor Senior Manager for Cisco Business Development. Shawn brings more than two decades of Cisco experience to his interactions with partners. With that experience behind him, he told us that he believes “Comstor and SYNNEX have the best team in the business to help our partners achieve success.” This is why Shawn creates progression programs to help partners navigate through Cisco, from their first interaction to building a profitable business.
How did you get started in this field and what excites you most about what you do?
I started a long time ago working with Cisco by staging equipment (loading software, installing modules, etc.), and quickly learned about the flexibility and capabilities that Cisco solutions provide to drive innovation and business outcomes.
In my current business-development role, I’m excited to have the opportunity to help our Comstor and SYNNEX partners understand how they can build and grow a profitable Cisco business practice.
Tell us about your role at Comstor and how you help partners.
I’m part of the team that develops and drives our EDGE partner progression programs, which create a roadmap to success and help to simplify the world of Cisco for our partners. These EDGE programs are designed around the Cisco architectures, including Networking, Meraki, Security, Collaboration and Data Center. Our partner progression programs help our partners gain a deeper understanding of each of these.
